Simply Amazing.

another day, week, month gone by....

another new opportunity to live for God.

already a month into 2009, classes about to begin.... time to get into that mindset.

to make my reflection/blog short.... this week was nonetheless filled with his graces and blessings... simply amazing.

whenever i get a chance to glimpse at how God has carried me through and how many times He's found me when i've lost my way.... it's overwhelming.

i get to blog about my history of His Story.

this week, i was blessed to attend the Chris Tomlin/Israel houghton/New Breed concert in Newark, N.J. with some of my friends.

although we were an hour or so late.... i was overjoyed to not only see thousands of Gods people gathered together to worship one God, but to be with particular people and friends at the concert.... you guys are answered prayer and a prayer in itself   :)

i realize although at times these things may be financially straining, being that i attend 389749853 of them and at times organizing these things may be physically/mentally straining as well =X ........ each one holds its own significance/experience/people and i encounter God differently in each one.... it's pretty crazy yet not surprising... due to the spontaneous yet timely nature of a sovereign God of miracles!

besides.... i'd rather blow my money and time on encounters w/ God than at the local bar or shopping sprees or whatever stimulates and fulfills momentary pleasures or needs.

i guess i've learned to not only view it as an eternal investment but to apply it as an "eternal investment"...

i know....

i've become a christian gathering junky..... lol
(not by definition)

but hey, i can't get enough of God and what He's doing in the hearts of this generation! CMON NOW! CAN I GET A WITNESSSS?! ;P

but nonetheless, God calls us to be good stewards of our time and money as well, heh!... so i don't want to splurge on these things or make it seem that we have to attend these things to encounter God....

today Pastor Stephen asked the congregation a question....
"What do we/you as human beings value? What and where do we spend our time and money on?"

i think you can tell alot about the kind of person he/she may be by their financial accts.

which is a reminder to how i spend my money on clothes! can i get an amen and an amen?! -_-;;

ne how~ this is me ranting lol

i'll end w/ a quote that i've kept since i've first began this journey with God... esp someone who was consumed by the consumerism of this world, or America rather...

"What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?" - Jesus

New Single by Israel Houghton

"All the Way My Savior Leads Me" duet with Israel and Chris and you notice a trio going down with my friend Ellen~ lol HILARIOUS!
comes in comparison with Pastor Stephen lol!

"None But Jesus"

Let this song be a reminder of who God is in our lives.
from where He brought us, to where He's gunna bring us,
.... there is none but Jesus.   =)

listen.

In the quiet, in the stillness
I know that You are God
In the secret of Your presence
I know there I am restored

When You call I won’t refuse
Each new day again I’ll choose

There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise

In the chaos, in confusion
I know You’re Sovereign still
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do Your will

When You call I won’t delay
This my song through all my days

All my delight is in You Lord
All of my hope, all of my strength
All my delight is in You Lord Forevermore

'09 IS MINE'

so it's been a week and half since it's been 2009..... and it's been showing much promise thus far, within these past NINE days.heh.

nonetheless,

i've set some resolution if you will, for this upcoming year.

just some steps or standards or goals to help me become a more efficient and better equipped child of God.

i'll tell ya, it gets harder and harder being a Christian this day and age...
so much scrutiny, heresy, and hardened hearts...even our own.

but we wait earnestly for our Lord Christ to come through once again, in all of his splendor and majesty.

and we live in a time where spreading the gospel is THAT much easier!

the OG disciples only wished they had internet or email or planes or telephones and dorm rooms, cmon now.....

it's not the lack of communication... it's the lack of faith really.

so as children of the MOST HIGH, we're called to "make every effort to add to our faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love." -2 Peter 1:5-7

right around the holiday season, Pastor Stephen and I along with sister Esther, hitup the subways and told em the true reason for the season and help them find true fulfillment during this potentially lonely season...... the Lord is already working, He's just looking for workers to harvest the fields y'all~

it was my third time doing open-air evangelizing in the underground of NYC~
nerve-wrecking, yes.
insecure, yes.
worried, yes.
thirsty, yes.

worth it?
 absolutely!

it's def not ez preaching something people get killed for in other parts of the world.

but how can the saved do nothing for whom they once were like, unsaved.

aren't we eternally grateful for someone telling us the gospel?
whether it b a preacher or a friend..... i can't wait to get to heaven and join brothers and sisters who i've never met, personally thanking me for being Christlike in my studies, conversations, actions, movie theatre, subways, campus, WHATEVER!...and saying it's because of that.... i came to know the Lord as my personal savior~ gosh.... what an overwhelming feeling of God's goodness!

"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." -Matthew 5:16

So i'm challenging all the brothers and sisters who read this....let's be doers and not just hearers!
Let's reach out, be disciples, be broken, be bold, courageous, faithful, be willing, be humble, and above all love~

2009.....is mine, let's do this.

4 Christ of course ;)
